Interned Into Skill And Experience!

"The bad news is...
TIME FLIES.

The good news is...
YOU'RE THE PILOT"

It has not been quite long to the time when the transition from school to college happened in my life. Yet, I find it somewhat awe-inspiring that at the same time, next year, I'd be at the threshold of being entitled to my graduation degree, after four years of what has been a lifetime in its own.

From a sense of accomplishment to having procured the pursuance of a Bachelor's degree at DTU, for which 'formerly Delhi College of Engineering' seems to be as imperative as a title to a person, to realizing that the perseverance put in over the last leg of schooling got me here, to burning the midnight oil for the showdown time each semester, it is in the innumerable such trips as a 'day-scholar' from the home to the campus, and from the classroom to the labs to the in-campus photocopy shop to the canopied Nescafe to the once relished food of Mech-C, to the Wind Point to the Library to the OAT and the Auditorium, that I have realized that I was meant for such a life's canvas.

Time sure flies past in the blink of an eye, as it seems just like yesterday when I had first stepped into the college campus - MY college campus - which is at the heart of all experience. Some of them came as firsts, some of them felt like Déjà vu, quite a handful of them are being cherished at this very moment.

Such a cherished experience is the one which came along as the FIRST ephemeral transition from 'College' to 'Corporate', i.e. the customary 'Industrial Training' that we students are expected to undergo after the immediate completion of the V and VI Semesters (constituting the Third of a Four Year course), dubbed as the month-long Winter Internship and the two-months-long Summer Internship respectively.

It was in the December of 2015 that I first stepped into the premises of Micromax Informatics Ltd. and that is primarily the reason why the nuances of the experience are as fresh as a daisy (the secondary reason being that we are also expected to elucidate the aforementioned during the Viva to be conducted any time around next week I presume). :)

The first sight as I entered the building

With the preconceived yet upheld notion that I would not move out of Delhi, neither to pursue my internship nor to take up a job, when the opportunity comes forth, I expected these Winter Vacations to be different from the preceding two, and rightfully so.

While the breaks following the completion of my first and third semesters were spent on a lighter note, this one was to be serious work, (coupled with some light notes) that came along.

---

The initiation came as a series of calls (which were missed by me, owing to the fact that I was writing one of my end-semester exams, at the time and day those were made) followed by a message from the Assistant Manager - HR, making me realize that I had missed an important call.

After a few calls and messages for the company to formally induct me as an intern, the next four weeks were all about following a 9-to-5 routine, while learning about Business Intelligence from scratch, observing the ongoing project and reporting directly to the Manager(IT).

You could say that's me, sans the headphones, taking notes from the documentation provided to me, before hitting the ground running.

What came as a surprise, and a pleasant one at that, was that the consultants from one of the Big Four auditors - KPMG - had a partaking in the said project too. I like to believe that I interned in two companies at once, from that point of view. :)

From grasping the basics and some intermediates about not just one but many services offered by Microsoft, for instance MOSS & VB.Net, to acquainting myself with the interface of BI Tool, Qlikview and gaining an understanding of its usage by the organisation in analyzing their sales pattern over the past couple of years, I learnt that what mattered the most was the urge to learn, be it the professional or personal front.

My Desk and the quintessential Visitor Badge

From setting into the mold of a naive individual on the corporate scene, with nuances such as procuring a Visitor's badge to begin the day, to witnessing and participating in some funny, some philosophical discussions over lunch (recall that Odd-Even Phase I was also to be initiated in January), all of which were interesting in one aspect or another, I did not realize the pace at which the month of December went past.

But, December could not have ended without Christmas, could it? Not possible at all.

While I was expecting the building to be all decked up on the day, I was pleasantly surprised to witness the jolly mood and vibe prevailing in the atmosphere. That Christmas was a different one altogether. What if Santa would have donned a geeky outlook that day, at Micromax too? :)

Another aspect about my internship at Micromax which I would like to highlight is the positive work-vibe at the office. It was all about learning through interaction and not hesitating to ask doubts. More so, that I was told at the time of leaving that the office's doors would always be open for me.

That reassurance had a different kind of feel-good factor attached to it and I always cherish that one statement for not only the office as an organization but also the people working there, who guided me, be it in terms of work principles or life principles, is going to stay with me, life-long. :)

That's Micromax! :)

While the Summer Internship beckons in a month's time, soon after the end-semester exams in May, my first Internship would always remain special to me. As they say, "There's a first time for everything", a first time at going to school, attending college, and now interning in the corporate world.

Firsts always remain special, and this memoir will always be.

That is MY Intern Theory for life! :D

Gender Bias Be Gone!

Mine is a nuclear family, comprising of Mom, Dad and me. I have been brought up in a very congenial atmosphere. I have never seen a real fight between my parents. They do argue sometimes, arguments turning to heated ones but then those have never created any serious rifts between the two. I was quite a social butterfly right since childhood. A friend or two would always be there at home most of the time. At times, my friends would come to my home straight from school. We were used to spending time at my house. My parents ensured to provide ample space for everyone at home. I was never restricted to anything right since the beginning. Probably that brought an extra ounce of maturity in me ahead of anyone else among my peers.

My mother is the Principal in a government college. My father is a businessman. Both have entirely different time schedules. On one hand, my mother has fixed timings mostly. Hardly ever has she observed a shift from routine owing to unexpected workload. On the other hand, my father has long and unpredictable timings right since the beginning. It has happened many times that when Mom is at home, Dad is away and when Dad is at home, Mom is at work. My mother’s work doesn’t require much of travel outside the city. My father’s business required a lot of travel right since the start. One thing that is admired by my friends about my father is his emotion, affection, and love towards home and family.

Right since my childhood my friends have seen my father working in the kitchen many-a-times, preparing food. Earlier I used to see him speed-dialing Mom asking how much salt is to be put in the vegetables he is preparing, for how much time they are to be boiled, how many whistles of steam cooker are to be observed etc. But gradually he became an expert, as expert as a Master chef. He never hesitated to do all this in front of my friends when we were kids. In fact, many of my friends would go home and tell their parents about this. On one occasion, one of my friend's father tried to make a mockery of my father openly saying he does the work that the lady of the house is supposed to do. My father, plain-faced, asked him a question that silenced him with shame in his eyes. My father asked, if one's home, family, spouse, kids and the likes belong to oneself, how come the onus of household responsibilities falls on the women of the house, solely? That day onward my friends’ admiration and respect towards my father grew leaps and bounds, as he was firmly questioning the notion of gender bias and adopting a praiseworthy practice to #ShareTheLoad. He has never shied away from lending a helping hand at home and I am proud of the fact that my family is one of the few to realize and object to such silent prejudice being practiced against the women of our nation amid closed walls. This too, is a burden which needs to be shunned and it is of utmost importance to let Gen Next observe what must be supported as right and what must be discarded as wrong.

Prejudiced Towards Duality...

Rahul is soft spoken and a cheerful boss at office. He always encourages his subordinates to work in a team by usually telling them the story of a bundle of sticks. If you break each stick individually, it will not take much time to destroy all the sticks. But if all sticks are tied together and then someone tries to break the bundle from the middle, it is impossible. Everyone praises Rahul at his workplace. He has been an exemplary individual for his colleagues and juniors. The head honchos would praise him in one or the other general meeting. He is the guy who believes in team work. He is the guy who believes in equality. He always tells his team leaders to make sure they involve each team member in the ongoing projects. In fact, he always emphasizes on the senior employees to contribute and set an example for their juniors. He always ensures that no female members from his department is to stay beyond office hours. If they have to, someone from the HR appoints a 'pink cab' which would drop them at their respective doorstep. This constructive attitude from Rahul's side has continued for almost a decade. Rahul has built a great rapport with all in his office.

Rahul’s wife Smita has been working as a consultant to an American firm. She works from home. Since most of their clients are based in the USA, hence Smita would be seen working in the wee hours of the day - late nights and early mornings. She would hardly get any time to sleep at night. During the day she had to also manage the house. Her duty, in fact, was never-ending during the day. She was working, as if for two organizations. Right in the morning, a reporting to the second firm would begin. Getting their two children to wake up, ironing their uniform, preparing their breakfast and tiffins, polishing their shoes and dropping them to school was just the first set of duties. Coming back, ironing Rahul's clothes, preparing his breakfast was just the second set of chores. Then it was about keeping an eye on the maid and supervising the prevalence of hygiene at home. But, she was always energetic and never complained. This routine had prevailed over the past decade.

There came a day for their eldest daughter to be engaged. Rahul's boss had asked for his daughter’s hand for his son. His would-be son-in-law was working in an MNC as a Marketing Head. Their daughter was working in the same MNC as Associate Manager - HR. It was Sameer’s first visit to their house after his engagement with Ramya. After the customary greetings, they all gathered together over lunch. Sameer started praising his to-be father-in-law's attitude in the office, elucidating the praises that he had heard from his father. It was news for Ramya and Smita. Both were wondering how one person could have maintained a harsh duality for so long. Rahul's positive attitude had never been seen at home, towards his wife and kids.

Such issues as equality and team work had been small talk at home, whenever Smita used to urge Rahul to lend a helping hand in the daily chores, but it was music to the mother-daughter's ears when they heard of him being so considerate towards his female colleagues at the workplace.

If only, Rahul had been considerate enough, towards his better half, to #ShareTheLoad, Ramya would have held her father in high regard. Her brother was also so accustomed to their mother breaking her back over routine tasks around the house that even he had learned to assist her by contributing in his own small ways like helping in slicing the veggies for meals, putting out the washed laundry on the clothesline or even volunteering to preparing quick-fix meals like Maggi when Smita used to feel low. However, Rahul, contrary to his exemplary professional self, used to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to Smita's efforts on the pretext of being a busy professional!

If only, as a kid, Rahul had witnessed his father volunteering to assist his mother in homely responsibilities, that he would have grown empathetic towards his significant other.

Listening to Sameer's false appreciation made Rahul wallow in guilt and self-pity, as this image of his, was but, a mirage. He had realized his folly and promised  to lend a helping hand to Smita and applaud his son's gesture of sharing his mother's and sister's load of household chores.

Smiley Vermicelli Made Him Smile!

“Beta, please don't have so many desserts, so often!”

“Why Ma? I love desserts more than anything else! Earlier you never used to deny me but now, whenever you prepare something sweet for me, you also preach to me not to have it in excess. Why?”

“Beta I know you love sweets, and I love this smile which comes on your face, whenever you relish any dessert which I prepare for you with such affection. But, being a mother I am also concerned about your health. You are gaining weight day by day and I am worried that increased sugar intake can lead to diabetes.”

---

Ma was constantly reminding him of the perils of having a sweet tooth, but she didn’t want to keep him devoid of the pleasure of having desserts altogether too! After all, one cannot live with sweetness, can they?

So, she started searching for a healthier alternative. One fine day, she came to know of  Sugar Free Natura as a substitute to sugar. She thought of giving it a try by deciding to make her son’s favorite Vermicelli. The #DessertChallenge here, was if a sweetener could bring the same twinkle in his eyes as spoonfuls of sugar.

Smiley Vermicelli

Portion Size: 5
Serves: 2

Preparation Time: 10 Minutes
Cooking Time: 10 Minutes

Utensils:

  • Vessel  (1)
  • Stirrer (1)
  • Bowl (2)
  • Plate (1)

Ingredients:

  • 500 ml Full Cream Milk
  • 1 small bowl Vermicelli
  • Almonds and Cashews
  • Strawberry Crush

Recipe:

  1. Boil full-cream milk.
  2. Add vermicelli to boiling milk, while stirring for 5 minutes.
  3. Add Sugar Free Natura and stir to dissolve.
  4. Switch off the burner.
  5. Refrigerate for 10 minutes.

Plating:

  • Take thickened Vermicelli in a plate.
  • Garnish it with finely chopped almonds and cashews.
  • Put 1-2 drops of strawberry crush on the top and decorate the plate with a strawberry smiley.
  • Serve in small bowls.

Ankit loved the smiley his Ma made in the plate. Actually, only Ma knew that Ankit couldn’t contrast the sugar she used to add in the vermicelli in the past and the sweetener which had been added - low-calorie Sugar Free Natura - without making any difference to the taste of his favorite dish. So, both the purposes were solved. Healthy and Tasty, at the same time! Bingo, Sugar Free Natura!

Smiley Vermicelli won Ankit's heart!
And, Ma couldn't have been happier! :)

A #MaxFreshMove And A Celebration...

May 25, 2015.
Monday.

It was a different feeling altogether with the dreaded 'Monday Blues' for our entire family this time.
The reason being the declaration of the result of Class XII students, who had spent numerous sleepless nights, contemplating over their academic performance.

Wait. No, that stressed-out teen wasn't me. I have been through this phase already. This time, it was my first cousin's turn.
Coincidentally, it was his birthday too, that day.

She seemed to have been anxiously waiting for that bottle to finally stop spinning on the table. she chickened out on that day, on the mere thought of such important results clashing with her most important day of the year.

To me, this coincidence was not something new, as my JEE results had also been declared on the same day as my birthday. It was a day of mixed feelings this time around too.

However, since the results were announced during the first half of the day, the entire extended family woke up with traces of anxiety and inquisitiveness, as is the case with typical Indian relatives.

As it turns out, the anxiousness crossed all limits when CBSE's website refused to load owing to too much load on their server. After multiple futile attempts, my cousin and her parents decided to wait for another ten to fifteen minutes before resuming their quest to get the portal to load.

After an entire hour of the results being announced by the Board, were they actually able to access the portal and view her result. The entire family was filled with a sense of pride and a wave of congratulatory message from both, the relatives and the school teachers overwhelmed her.

We could not have been happier as my cousin herself, felt content with her results. She hoped that such a performance would establish her at the threshold of a course and college of her choice.

After the initial outburst of joy, all of us cousins planned for a family outing in the evening, as the day called for double celebration. We planned for a dinner outing, at one of our favorite restaurants of all time.

However, we were in for a bigger surprise in the form of the restaurant's owner celebrating their own wedding anniversary, where celebrities Anushka Manchanda and Allu Arjun had been called upon to make the guests groove to their tunes. It was a true star-studded evening.

Our family couldn't have been happier as the entire day had been full of pleasant coincidences and my cousin had a wide grin - from ear to ear - at the end of it all.

#CelebrateLife In Your Own Way, Living By Your Own Terms...

There have been episodes when a moment becomes bigger than an occasion and there have been episodes when an occasion has no need of anything other than what it is in itself. An occasion is actually nothing but an accessory for beautifying our lives. Good occasions in life make it more beautiful and enchanting. Our happiness scores higher with the good moments that we witness in life. That is the secret of accumulating those precious, timeless moments spread all over the timeline, over our lifetime, so as to #CelebrateLife.

Everyone has their own unique ways of celebrating some of the special moments in life. Some prefer to spend time partying whereas some like to be at ease with themselves. Some spend a lot of time in solemnity whereas others prefer to live it out like a free spirit. If I try to pinpoint my trait among a plethora of so many possibilities, I always find myself facing the fork in the road. Actually, I am a moody person. So, it is always my heart that tells me in advance whether I feel like being a part of an upcoming occasion or not. I prefer to celebrate the smallest of the moments of my life and pronouncing their grandness in their own way rather than waiting for the grand moments to celebrate.

Life, in a way, deserves to always be celebrated. Respecting every moment of life and giving it a requisite amount of honor itself says a lot. If you are not happy, you can never expect others around you to be happy. Happiness is as contagious as sadness. If you are sad, others around you will seem sad as well, and if you are happy, you are able to spread happiness around without making any efforts. That happens on its own.

Another way to find happiness is to strike a deal with yourself that you will never let anybody around you feel sad, at any cost. If that is the mission, then your goal becomes bigger than your own instances or moments. That mission compels you to make the most of every moment around you, to be as lively and graceful as possible so that you don’t see even an iota of sadness on any face around you.

I have always been able to enjoy every moment I have spent whether with my family at home, or with my friends at school or college. That, I believe is the secret of my motivation to #CelebrateLife.

#CrashthePepsiIPL: Pepsi Saved the Game Quite Intelligently

---

This ad “Pepsi Saved The Game” in the Crash the Pepsi IPL gallery is quite intelligently created. Whilst proclaiming  Pepsi as the hero of the game, it not only saves the game of cricket but also brings in the smiles and happiness back on the faces of young players aspiring to play cricket. In the advert, the guys plan to play cricket and thus have all gathered in the park. They have all the gaming equipment like bat, ball, pads etc. except the stumps.

Now, everyone of us knows that in the absence of stumps it will be impossible to play cricket, even if you are planning to play in a street or in a park. Even the kids playing cricket need to have stumps though they might not use all the accessories of the game. Logically, stumps are one of the basic requirements for playing cricket and cannot be counted as the accessories. The same happens in the ad too when all the guys are worried and finally plan to call it off as they would not be able to play cricket in the absence of stumps. All their plans to gather in the park and play cricket together go haywire.

Then come the moments of the climax, when one of them opens a bottle of Pepsi and takes a sip. The moment the first sip of Pepsi is gulped down, a bright and brilliant idea pops into the mind of the girl. The next moment you see stumps put up there, in place. Each stump towers up with the help of three Pepsi bottles. The stumps look more than professional and natural, well in place and the game starts well.

On second thoughts, there is a deeper message associated with the video. We do encounter moments in life when all of a sudden, a plan goes haywire due to some shortcoming or the other. That is the moment to contain yourself and rely on determination. That is the only moment when you can either carry on with a fight to chalk out a solution or to be depressed and turn towards a dead-end of the road. That is the moment when a sip of Pepsi can do miracles in your life by bringing in a light at the end of the tunnel, at the right time. That is the moment which gives you a brighter idea to get to the solution and escape the turmoil.

For that sake, this ad conveys a lot to all of us. It gives us a lesson of life.

Short Story: Of Dreams And Reality...

---

“What is your most special potential?”, he inquired. We stood there, meeting for the first time. His eyes were just like a magnet and my eyes were behaving just like iron. The only thing was that my eyes did not pop out of my head to start moving in his direction. But for almost more than a minute, I was still, and so were my eyes, sinking into his hazel hued eyes. He was not from this world. He possessed an entirely different personality. He appeared to me as the Greek God Mars, who had descended on Earth, for this lesser mortal's gratification. He was far beyond his appearance. Possessing a young face, which reflected maturity, with eyes brimming with love and respect, he had swept me off my feet!

He clicked his fingers in front of my eyes to bring me to the surface, out of his gripping, magnetic pull. “Hello...", he said, with a sweet smile on his face. “Would you like to attempt this most difficult question?”

“I don’t think one needs to draw a distinguishing line between the kinds of potentials one discovers in oneself.”, I replied, and my reply, in a way, surprised him, as if he had never expected such a reply from me. “Moreover, it does not matter for me. Whatever the situation be, I always give it my best.”

“You try to give your best or actually give it your best in every kind of situation?” he asked. The smile on his face was consistent and mesmerizing. It had not deviated by an iota so far.

“I don’t believe in trying, I just give it my best, as trying mostly makes way for excuses for oneself and excuses are enough to deviate oneself from one's best performance.”, I quipped.

His smile was propelling. It was propelling me to give answers without thinking, as if he was providing these answers to me in my mind through his magical smile. Probably this interaction was taking place only for me to realize this myself, to come to terms with something I had never pondered upon, and had never introspected in life.

“You look like Goddess Venus to me. Stay like this only, never get bogged down by any trouble in life.”, he said.

“Sure!”, I said. We were standing on opposite platforms waiting for the Metro trains to arrive in order for us to go home from college. The entire conversation had taken place over Whatsapp. I had seen him there for the first time. Both our trains were to travel in opposite directions. These opposite directions, attracted.

“Who are you? I have never seen you here. Where are you from? Where are you going?” I asked in a jiffy. By then we could see trains coming towards both of us, from opposite directions.

I started moving towards the Ladies coach and his train too, was brought to a stop, at the platform.

“Bye”, he said. “We might not meet again. If we ever meet again, I will reply to all these three questions.”

In a split-second, his eyes were sparkling. The smile was gone. He was sporting a serious look, while appearing taller than his own stature, older than his age, full of wisdom, love and respect.

“Bye”, I said and we stepped into our respective trains. The doors closed at the same time, and both the trains started moving in opposite directions, at high speed.

We both sent a hand waving emoticon to each other at the same time. The smiley emoticons were back too.

“Hello! Wake up, quick. Else you will get late for college!”

Mom was there to wake me up.

“And why were your hands in the air, like you were typing something?”

Oops! I looked at wall clock and smiled, as it was still not too late to reach college in time.

I smiled and rushed to grab my toothbrush, while dodging Mom's question. ;)

The Multitude Of Facets...

She is my role model right since childhood. Hers is the first touch I had in my life. Hers is the first voice I heard. She is the one who gave me my first feed. She is the one who taught me to walk, talk and laugh. She is my world, she is my poetry, she is my energy, she is my foremost connect with this world. She is my real power. She is above me, inside me, and in fact she is everywhere with me, in my thoughts, in my eyes, in my dreams.

I remember, there was a time when she had to choose between her career or marriage, as she had told me, and as was the demand by my father’s family. But she had tackled the situation quite intelligently. She not only convinced her to-be husband but her in-laws too that if she continues with her school job as a senior teacher, it will be a boon to the family. She emphasized the fact that her job would act as an extended source of income to the family, apart from offering her a certain sense of self-confidence and keeping intact, her self-respect.

In case of any kind of crisis, there will be a backup to hold the situation in going from good to bad, to worse. My mother’s opinion was held in high spirits at a moment of crisis when everyone in the family praised about her firm stand and how mindfully she had managed to convince everyone, in the past.

This was her first valuable lesson to me for taking the path of “AND” instead of “OR” and showing the world that we women are no less than men.

---

Another such moment came in her life again, a couple of months before my birth when everyone opined that she would be leaving her job but there was a unique dedication and perseverance that forced her school Principal not only to grant her leave for a longer duration, but also garner full support from the school management. Her school management was fully convinced that finding a replacement to her strong academic background would be quite difficult. In fact, she ensured that she would be assisting in work as long as possible during this period of leave. Once again she proved her mettle and the power of “AND” in her rather than opting for “OR”, which is usual under these and similar circumstances.

She is a dedicated teacher AND a doting mother, till date! :)

She is also an adept professional AND an ordained home-maker, till date. :)

She is also a perfect Blogger, in my opinion... :)

She has proved that she cannot be limited by a lone label. :)

The Power Of AND...

Time and again she has proved that she has that special dimension of “AND” in her, apart from the usual “OR” factor that has been tagging along with every woman of my country since decades. Time  has changed and so has the woman of India. She has proclaimed to her people that she is no less than anyone in the world. The woman of my era has gone to space, has become a world champion in sports, has grabbed gold medals in Olympics, has taken charge of the country, has taken top positions in services, has proved herself in every field – be it of medicine, engineering, mountaineering, writing, teaching or banking.

It is my mother who demonstrated to me and taught me the power of “AND”. She also taught me that a woman is not weak in any sense. In fact it is only a woman, who even after proving herself successful in every walk of life, has been at the core of all life.

I remember an important episode which she handled in a beautiful manner that probably nobody else would have been able to handle. It was the day for my JEE Main, and my examination center had been allotted at a college in Gurgaon where I had to report before 9 AM. We started well in time but never knew what we could be facing en-route and that too when we had covered more than fifteen kilometers and hardly five kilometers were left to reach to the destination. The time by my watch was half past eight, which was more than sufficient, for us to reach the examination center.

There was a big mob ahead and a day long strike was about to begin, heralded by the local villagers in wake of no water being supplied in the area since the last three days. Their plan was to stop all vehicles on both sides, and we had no alternate route to take. There was no way to reverse the vehicle as there was a long queue behind our car. My mother got down from the car and did a very sensible thing.

Instead of persuading the old men and women of that village who were initiating that roadblock, she approached a few youngsters standing nearby belonging to the same village. She told them the whole story and convinced the boys of the paucity of time in hand. They made sense of the whole incident and let us go from the side by making much space to let our car pass.

That is something quite intelligent she did, by letting others know that it is only the route of “AND” she takes and not that of “OR”. She decided to go that way only as we had neither the time, nor the space to go back “AND” she was also determined that I must reach the destination
in time to attempt my exam. I am pursuing my engineering successfully and I owe it all to my mother. Thanks Mom, for inculcating and setting an example of this power of “AND” in you.

Meet Mr. Universe - BOLT!

The latest from prestigious Indian Car Manufacturing Giant Tata Motors is The Bolt, launched yesterday. Tata Motors stormed the whole world with their most economical and beautiful car, The Nano a few years back. Since then Tata Motors has become a worldwide phenomenon, a case study for international B-Schools and a role model for producing highest quality and technology indigenous products. Nano in fact revolutionized the whole concept of manufacturing of cars across the globe.

~~~
Don’t underestimate Tata Motors assuming that with Nano it manufactures only the most economical cars. It has equally proved its mettle in middle and higher segment, with The Vista and The Zest in the past.
~~~

The newest revolution, Tata Bolt is a hatchback and is a direct threat to its peers from other manufacturers – Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai i20 where the Bolt is far beyond comparison with the other two in terms of quality, features, look & feel; and superior technology.

~~~
Hatchback cars in India form the most wanted segment among youth, professionals and families. Its ex-Delhi price starts from Rs. 4.45 lacs for entry level Petrol variant, ranging up to Rs. 6.05 lacs for the highest model in the segment.
In Diesel variant, the entry level is for Rs. 5.5 lacs going up to Rs. 6.99 lacs for the highest model (both prices ex-Delhi).
~~~

The amazing point is that even the entry level model is richly featured that is missing in the corresponding car manufacturer’s top models in the same segment. Of course it is going to Thunder BOLT them all in 2015 and shall be surpassing all to grab the top spot in numbers.

The product speaks about the innovations delved in it in order to deliver the best value for money to the buyer. The engine comes with two variants – 1.3 liters in diesel model enriched with multi-jet technology and 1.2 liters petrol model enriched with world class design and technology of Revotron engine.

Revotron technology is Tata Motors' in-house developed technology, where the word itself is a mix of two words – Revolution and Tron (meaning Balance). Bolt is that way able to BOLT ahead of any global manufacturers turbo petrol car in the same segment.

This is proved to be the smoothest ever Petrol Hatchback produced in India and has been vetted by Narain Kartikayen, the brand ambassador of Tata Motors. Tata Zest's (the Sedan car from Tata Motors) engine is built on the same technology.

Various critic’s views also have been quite positive about Tata Bolt stating it as a great evolution offering a state of the art engine, optimally spacious and beautiful in looks.

Exterior Design:

Kudos to Tata designers for this excellent looking hatchback. It seems that a lot of thought provoking action has gone into it by producing this excellent design. You have a look at it from any angle and you are bound to be awed in admiration mode.

From the front, it is more or less similar to Tata Zest, which was a big hit after its launch. The design for the headlamps has probably been inspired their brand ambassador, giving it a sporty outlook.

Tata Bolt is tall and handsome, and is bound to bring in a lot of confidence to its owner. The ground clearance is ideally 165 meters, to bring in an element of safety and sturdiness from bumpy and uneven roads in India. The rear is also imbibed with a good amount of style and is innovative.

Interior Design:

It gives a fresh look from the inside, that is amazingly spacious - bringing in all kind of comfort one would need for long journeys or tiring traffic jams. That way, the interiors feel no less than an inside of a luxury Sedan. Steering is fantastic for having a firm grip. The cabin is designed in a manner to provide optimum space. People with a good height will feel the same, as far as comfort goes, whether sitting in front or rear. Roof height is perfectly designed keeping all factors in mind.

Steering:

The steering is not only beautiful and well designed to have a perfect grip, but is also built with a technology that comes in Audi - like cars where it can be adjusted up and down; and also in and out so as to adjust it accordingly for the corresponding height and body size thereby assuring comfort to anyone occupying the driver's seat.

Driver's Seat:

Another excellent feature is provided for the driver’s seat. It can be adjusted with upward and downward movement for adjustment for any height and making it a perfect driver's seat!
